Welcome to WPCoreTools. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website (wpcoretools.com) and our WordPress plugins. By using our website or plugins, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing our website or downloading and using our plugins, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our website or plugins.

2. Free Plugins, No Payments

Every WPCoreTools plugin is free. There is no Pro version, no paid license, no subscription and no checkout. We do not collect payment details and we do not ask you to create an account to download or use a plugin.

If we ever offer a paid product, these Terms will be updated before it goes on sale, and the update will state who processes the payments and how refunds work.

3. Refunds

Because all plugins are free, there is nothing to refund. If you paid anyone for a WPCoreTools plugin, please tell us through the contact form so that we can look into it.

4. Plugin License

4.1 GPL License

All WPCoreTools plugins are released under the GNU General Public License version 2 or later (GPLv2+). This means you are free to:

  • Use the plugins for any purpose, on any number of sites
  • Study how the plugins work and modify them
  • Redistribute copies of the original plugins
  • Distribute copies of your modified versions

4.2 No Warranty

As permitted by the GPL license, our plugins are provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind, either expressed or implied, including, but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

5. Acceptable Use

When using our website and plugins, you agree not to:

  • Use the plugins in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or networks
  • Interfere with or disrupt our website or services
  • Remove or alter any copyright notices or attributions
  • Use our trademarks or branding without permission (note: the GPL allows redistribution of code, but not use of our trademarks)
  • Misrepresent your affiliation with WPCoreTools

None of this restricts the rights the GPL grants you for plugin code.

6. Plugin-Specific Terms

6.1 Speedix

Speedix measures a site while it runs. You acknowledge that:

  • Profiling adds a small overhead; use Safe Mode (10% sampling) on a live site
  • Results may vary based on hosting environment and server load
  • You are responsible for acting on profiling recommendations appropriately

6.2 Tidy Media

Tidy Media finds media files that look unused and can remove them. You acknowledge that:

  • Detection is based on what the plugin can see in your database and content, so a file used in a way it cannot detect may be reported as unused
  • You are responsible for keeping a backup of your site before deleting any media

6.3 WPCoreTools Disposable Email Guard

Disposable Email Guard blocks sign-ups from known disposable email domains. You acknowledge that:

  • Domain lists cannot be complete, and a legitimate address may occasionally be blocked
  • You are responsible for deciding which sign-ups your site accepts

6.4 WPCoreTools Email Verify

Email Verify asks customers to confirm their email address by clicking a link. You acknowledge that:

  • Email delivery depends on your WordPress/WooCommerce email configuration
  • You are responsible for telling your customers how their data is used and for meeting any consent rules that apply to you (for example GDPR)
  • The plugin is free and distributed through WordPress.org

7. Third-Party Services

Our plugins and website interact with third-party services, including:

  • WordPress.org: For plugin distribution and updates.
  • GitHub (raw.githubusercontent.com): Only if you turn on the optional list auto-update in Disposable Email Guard, or click its "Update now" button.
  • Cloudflare: For hosting and delivering this website.

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or terms of third-party services.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Our Content

The WPCoreTools name, logo, and website content (excluding plugin code) are protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may not use our branding without written permission.

8.2 Plugin Code

Plugin source code is licensed under GPLv2+ and may be used, modified, and distributed according to that license.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • WPCoreTools shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Because our plugins are free, our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us (which is zero)
  • We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of third-party services
  • We are not liable for any security breaches or data loss related to your WordPress installation

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless WPCoreTools and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of our website or plugins
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights

This section does not restrict the rights the GPL grants you for plugin code.

11. Modifications to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to our website at our discretion. The GPL license to our plugin code survives any termination of these Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes shall be resolved in the appropriate courts of our jurisdiction.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and WPCoreTools regarding use of our website and plugins.
